We received communication regarding wood management work that will be performed by PG&E. We wanted to ensure that our community members are informed about the work that PG&E will be doing in effort to support those in the SCU Lightning Complex Fire footprint.
After a detailed process which included inspection of remaining wood debris, PG&E has identified a number of properties in which trees were cut down and are eligible for removal (provided they receive property owner approval). PG&E will make contact with customers directly to inform them of the program, leave them with information, and provide a permission form to authorize the removal should they choose to participate. Customers who would like to participate in the program will need to return their permission form to PG&E no later than August 24, 2021.
Wood that is not eligible for removal includes:
• Wood that is not safely accessible by mechanized equipment or that would cause property damage by accessing.
• Wood debris located in heavily wooded areas.
• Wood located within and near riparian areas or within other environmentally sensitive areas
• Wood that the hauling of it may create unsafe conditions.
If you have any inquiries about the PG&E Wildfire Wood Management Program please reach out to 1-877-295-4949 or wildfiresafety@pge.com
