As Phase 1 is progressing the efforts to reach property owners is still an issue. As was shared in the Debris Removal Community meeting on 10/31 and in previous emails both Phase 1 and Phase 2 are at No Cost to the homeowner; unless the homeowner decides to opt out and take on the cost themselves to meet the mandated state requirement. Essentially all upfront costs will be paid by State and Federal agencies. If a property owner has homeowner’s insurance covering debris removal then the portion of the insurance reserved for debris removal would go to those costs. Since the County found interest from community members for using a free, agreed-upon lock provided by the U.S. EPA. The U.S. EPA has agreed to have more dates/times available at the County of Santa Clara Corporation Yard, 47365 San Antonio Valley Road, Livermore, CA 94550. The following dates/times are provided below:

If individuals are still interested but are unable to make the above times, please contact the Department of Environmental Health (DEH) at 408-918-3411. Additional coordination times can be made available for those who are unable to utilize the above options.
